Living on an island, Is it boring?

Ok so in my opinion I think living here on island is pretty normal. I have a lot of friends that have moved from a larger country. Well pretty much 90% of the time that it's  not exactly boring and it isn’t really that exciting. To me if I had lived somewhere else and then come to live here, I'm pretty sure that I would have hated it A LOT. But obviously I wasn't so for me I guess you sort of deal with the boredom. It's just a normal thing that people just have to deal with. Obviously there is the beach, a movie theater, occasional parties, a parade like once every four months and the odd concert. You just don’t have the all the time, having something to do.
Well let's see so you got the beaches, sun, and great people; but it really isn't always what it's cracked up to be. Don't get me wrong I love that I grew up around nature and my family but the thing is, is that when that boredom hits; it really does hit you hard.

Traveling by plane

When I hear the word plane I think to myself a giant metal bird looking thing in the sky that really loud. I love traveling by plane. I mean the weather and smells have a great deal to do with how good or bad your flight is. For example I refuse to travel on Jet Blue airplanes because every time I fly with them their plane smells like FART, not even joking. Another example I love to fly on my countries national airline; Cayman Airways. It makes me feel like I’m supporting my country and honestly the plane ride to and from is one of the best parts of the trip for me. I do not know why but I love traveling on Cayman Airways, it just feels really comforting to me, for some reason.
Well planes are actually kind of in my blood; my grandmother was the very first flight attendant on Cayman Airways which was back in 1968. Then her son who is my uncle is a registered pilot. Then on the other side of my family, my dad's side, my other uncle learnt to fly in high school. Then there is also my mom who should honestly work in the flight tower tracking all the flights. My mother is what I like to call a plane stalker, anyone of my family member goes away and she stalks them pretty much the whole flight. So as you can see there is a pretty good reason as to why I love traveling by plane.

Trying to figure out life after high school in another country

Ok, so right now I am trying to figure out what I wanna do with my life.
Living on an island you have three choices in my eyes:
1. You could actually not  go to college and get a job.
2. You can go to one of the few colleges they have on island.
3. You can leave and go to another country for college.

I personally am probably going to go overseas, with this option life becomes very, very difficult because first you have to figure out where you want to go; better yet what country!. There are so many options. You could literally go anywhere. But I feel that the hardest part isn’t really leaving your family, to me its starting all over again. I've been to three high schools in my entire life that means that I've had to start over three times. Even though I was still on a very small island, I still had to start from the beginning three times.
Well everybody is different wether you go to college or not it really doesn't mean that your life will be any harder, even if you had gone to college.

So yeah, the hardest part to is just starting over and picking a place to start.

Somewhere...

To be honest, I've never really been to a lot of place before. I've been to the states and I've been on two Caribbean cruises and that’s pretty much it. I love to travel; I love the feeling of leaving someplace to then go to another, a place where you may not know a lot about or even just knowing a little bit. But I believe that traveling is a way of finding yourself. Sometimes all it takes is a new place and bang; you’re doing, things you've never done before and who knows it could be something you’re really good at. I think everyone deserves to leave the place of their origin and start over somewhere new; somewhere you’ve never heard of perhaps. I think that’s something we all need in our lives. One day I want to travel to every place I want to visit and experience a new way of life.

What to write about?

Well this is now my seventh blog and to be honest I have no idea what to write about today. I have now been sucked dry of ideas. So today I wondered what to write about? So I said why not mix it up and write about how I have no idea what to write about. So here I go, I thought to myself what about writing about a trip I once had, that didn't go too well because honestly recently I have not really traveledanywhere; well nowhere new at least. Then I thought what about another poem. But then I thought I did that last week doing it again wouldn't be too creative, who knows maybe I'll have to do that next week. And then lastly I thought to myself I havea travel blog but not only that its a blog I dont have to stay to topic every week. So here I am, writing about how I have no clue what to write about. I also have to include pictures so, I think I'll make them funny to make up for this blog.

Running

We walk this land wondering and search,
Searching for something different,
Wondering for something new,
Are we runnimng away?
Or are we trying to find something that we cant quite explain.
Some people believe that I'm running,
But am I?,
I think we all run from something;
Weather that be a person or maybe even something,
We all run.

Living on an Island Paradise

Ok, so many of you people may think that growing up on an island might just be the absolute best thing ever. Well it is and isn’t at the same time. Growing up and hearing tourists come or foreigners who are visiting the island say things such as "living in paradise" or "its summer everyday", in my opinion this is not true. I have lived on an island for my entire life ( eighteen years to be exact) and to be honest I mean yeah I have beaches and "summer like" things to do, but really it really isn’t as cracked up to be. I mean, don’t get me wrong I wouldn’t give up living here for anything. It just feels like a lot of people think growing up on an island that quite literally only has sixty thousand people and that is only twenty two miles long is something so out of this world, that you can’t even fathom it.

Well to tell you the truth beaches get pretty boring after a while. Seeing the same faces over, and over and over again gets pretty boring. And on top of all that every one of your acquaintances, friends and family knows exactly what you’re doing at all moments of your life. Nothing can be hidden from them, trust me! For example you leave your house at 11:00 am and by 11:01 your mom or dad or someone is calling you and asking "So exactly where are you going, and who are you going with?”

So...I would never give this up living here on my beautiful island for anything, its just that its not as picture perfect as many people traveling may think.

Traveling With Sara

You may all be thinking to yourself: So who is Sara?

OK,  so SARA is my cousin and the reason why I'm writing a blog about her is because she is the most outrageous person I have ever come to know in my whole existence as a human being. She is the type of person to make you laugh at anything and I do mean anything. There could literally be a speck of white fuzz on the floor and she could turn that into a Donald Trump joke. She is a once in a lifetime kind of person. The world can only handle one Sara at any point in time.

So, back to traveling with Sara.. When I had the pleasure of traveling with Sara it could have meant the end of the world. We were going from the Cayman Islands to Miami, Florida. Of course there was a storm during our flight. Whilst on the plane the pilot; who's name I do not recall, was cracking jokes the whole flight. Of course me and Sara had clapbacks to those jokes. He would say something like "Nice weather we have here" or "Welcome to the Carribean, where the weather is always great" I mean the jokes werent really that funny its just that they were extreamly cringe worthy. And Sara's reactions to the jokes made them even more hilarious. She would say something so ridiculously hilrious that the flight attendants would come by and tell us had to quiet down. This pretty much continued for the whole flight. This flight turned out to be one of the best flights I had ever experienced even though there was a thunder storm.

Backpacking-- What do you need and why?

SO for example say you’re backpacking through Europe. What do you need? Well let's see you need to first of all think about what you are doing, how you are going to do it and how your gonna get to where you’re going.

NEXT I would plan your entire trip, I mean it’s up to you to do this, some people just wing it but I would strongly suggest against this. This can cause great confusion and can potentially be a pain in the neck!!

STEP ONE on the agenda find your backpack, remember your backpack can potential be your "rock" for the next few months or few years depending on how long you are planning this trip to be. Don’t just choose whatever you think is the cutest or the most in style, choose something practical and to your liking.

STEP TWO, what goes into you backpack? Well this all depends on what kind of backpacking trip you are planning on having. You could fill your backpack with camping supplies or you could fill it with this year's Prada, just make sure it’s what you essentially need on your trip.

STEP THREE, just remember to have fun and be safe on this trip. The road may be long and hard but always keep in mind that it’s worth it in the end.

Where should you go?

Do YOU ever wonder to yourself, I know I want to travel but where in the hell should I start?

Well I recently came across this issue myself. So for example you think to yourself what area of the world should I start with? Shall I start with the tropics, or maybe somewhere colder? In my opinion you should start with a list.
1. Search the web for even more exotic places
2. Start out with whatever comes into your mind first (that will usually be your number one, in my experience).
3. Start saving, if you’re like me and under the age of 18 you should probably try to get a job or just start putting away money.
4. Just remember that the world is your oyster, and you just need to crack it open and find out what’s inside.

My top 3 places I've visited

Number 1: Cozumel, Mexico

Number 1: Cozumel, Mexico
About three years ago I experienced the most amazing place I have ever traveled to. This place was Cozumel, Mexico. Whilst I was on Spring Break I went on a family vacation. About thirty five of us went. It was the first time I myself had gone on a cruise ship and if I'm being completely honest I did not have the best time being on the ship itself. I found the ship to be quite boring. It was a four day cruise, it took off in Miami and landed in Cozumel. Cozumel was the only stop. It was a beautiful place, the cruise ship made port we disbarred. We took a taxi to the Mayan ruins. The ruins were fascinating, beautiful, and mind blowing.

Number 2: U.S. Virgin Islands, St. Thomas

Earlier this year I took a trip to the beautiful islands of St. Thomas also know as the U.S. Virgin Islands. Whilst on a cruise I got the chance to visit St. Thomas, Tortola and Paradise Island in the Bahamas. The cruise itself was pretty boring but when we landed on the shores of St. Thomas that all changed, my entire trip changed. That Island was beautiful and amazing, it one of the best memories I have from traveling. We took a tour around the island, starting from the bottom and then we headed to the tops of the mountains.

Number 3: Paradise Island, Bahamas

Paradise Island, home to the Atlantis resort and hotel is one of my favorite places. It’s fun and your never bored. I have visited this island twice in the last seven years or so. When I went the first time I had a much better time than I had this resent time and this is why it’s not my number one on this list. The first time I went to the Bahamas I went during slow season and this last time I went it was busy season. This made the trip a lot less enjoyable. Also a few of the rides broke down which wasn't fun. But the first time I went it was amazing. There weren’t that many people (which was the best part), we were there for about a week not one day, and finally all the rides were working.
